NEW LAW MAKES ALL SYNTHETIC DRUGS ILLEGAL IN PENNSYLVANIA

A recent law, that went into effect on July 3, 2013, has made all synthetic drugs illegal throughout Pennsylvania, including Delaware County. Prior to the enactment of the law, manufacturers of the synthetic drugs were able to stay in ahead of the law by changing the chemical compound of the synthetic drug, and therefore making the drug legal.

However, under the new law, signed by Governor Corbett, all synthetic drugs will be considered illegal regardless of the ingredients or compound. Now people may face the same consequences as people charged with trafficking cocaine and heroin. Although the new law erases a loophole in the legislatures, it does not completely erase the defenses available to these crimes. At Giribaldi & Manaras, our experienced attorneys are always trying to stay ahead of the recent changes in the law. Call Giribaldi & Manaras for dependable and knowledgeable representation.
